Tom & Michele had been married for 16 years when Michele first found out of Tom’s secret life and sexual addiction in their marriage. The staggered disclosing caused their marriage and life as they knew to come to a complete halt. The life that was portrayed was nothing but deceit.
We had the choice to walk away from each other and it may have been easier. The horrific pain that comes with betrayal is beyond words. There was no clear path insight. The emotional roller coaster with no guarantee of the outcome was terrifying, yet God was present but silent. We had no answers but knew it wasn’t over yet. Our journey had just begun!
We have now been married for almost 20 years, born and raised in conservative Lancaster County PA. Grew up in neighboring towns, and raised in Christian homes. After we both experienced divorce in our first marriages we actually met in church. What a perfect scenario. Two broken 20 ‘somethings’, single parents, Michele mother of Austin, and Tom the father of Samantha and Kayla, fell in love and were married on Sept. 11 1999! (of all days). Proud parents and recently new grandparents to ‘Lil” Nora, daughter of Samantha and Matt.
Michele and I have planted our roots now in Southern MD (Mechanicsville MD) and have been here since 2014. We came to Faith Bible Church the following year in a crisis mode and our journey of healing began!
