GOOD NEWS FOR THE CITY

Good News for the City is a radio partnership between OneHeartDC and WAVA highlighting how God is working through His Church in the Greater Washington DC Area. You’ll be encouraged, walk away with hope and a bigger sense of the great God we serve! Good News for the City will leave you inspired to mobilize and make a Kingdom difference right where you are.

GOSPEL SATURATION IS OUR MISSION

OneHeartDC is a movement uniting and mobilizing churches, Christ-centered organizations, networks and marketplace leaders to saturate Metro Washington DC (DMV) with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

OUR VISION

Each of our 5 million neighbors will have repeated opportunities to hear, experience and respond to the love and message of Jesus Christ through one or more of our partners.

WHAT WE’RE ABOUT

PRAYER

We are fueled by prayer. God responds when our prayers are aligned with His will. We pray out of adoration and awe of His power to change lives and out of weaknesses and total dependence upon Him to help us become better together.

UNITY

We are united in our belief that the good news of Jesus Christ changes lives. A movement of churches, Christian leaders and organizations, we’re working together, multiplying our knowledge, influence and capabilities, and equipping each other. Our evangelistic impact is magnified when we’re unified across denominations, generations, racial and ethnic diversities. Through unity, we achieve much more than we could separately.

HOPE

We cultivate hope by meeting the needs of the under-served, and the life challenges of those seemingly “well off.” Demonstrating the gospel in deed provides a platform for sharing the gospel in word – as individuals and through united evangelistic outreaches. We engage community stakeholders to understand, vet and focus local and metro-wide outreaches.

When we work as one, OneHeartDC will help our community understand the heart of Christ and the power of the gospel. And we will accelerate the spread of the good news!

OUR FOCUS

GREATER BODY PARTERNSHIPS

The stories showing relationships and a collaborative spirit where leaders, churches and ministries are investing in one another and advancing the gospel in UNITY and providing HOPE together.

MOBILIZING EVERYDAY PEOPLE

The stories of gospel saturation happening when God’s people are released and mobilized providing HOPE in their communities, and including collaborative efforts to cultivate reproducing disciples by sharing resources, training, and best practices.

INTERPERSONAL & ORGANIZATIONAL PRAYER

The stories of faithful and fervent PRAYER from years prior and ongoing prayer throughout the region, both interpersonally (individuals praying throughout the region) and organizationally (churches gathering together), fueling UNITY and gospel saturation.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our partners and leaders share these unifying beliefs. We believe in the inerrancy and authority of the Bible as the Word of God

In one God, eternally existing in three divine Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That while we are all sinners and have a rebellious nature toward God, we also have great dignity, as we are created in the image of God

In the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, rose again from the grave, and will return in glory as the Lord of all

That our salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone.
