01 Mar Episode 190 | Discipling the Next Generation
John Desser joined the show to share how God arranged circumstances in his life and planted him here in the metro Washington DC area.
John Desser is a Jewish follower of Christ who grew up in a secular Jewish home. After finishing college, he moved to DC to get involved in politics and worked for Senator John McCain. An invitation to attend the National Prayer Breakfast and hearing from high profile, highly accomplished people talking about Jesus led him on a journey into Scripture. When he read the Sermon on the Mount, he became convinced that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah!
John lives in Leesburg Virginia with his wife Contessa of 21 years, and his four children: Levi, Elisheva, Micah, and Judah. He and Contessa practice their gifts of hospitality hosting Shabbat dinners and celebrations of Jewish Holy Days, where their guests often learn some of the key Jewish traditions that point to Messiah. In addition, they and their twins, who are seniors at Loudoun County High School, host a weekly Bible Study in their home that typically includes 20 to 50 students.
In his day job, John is an executive in the health care industry where he is involved in public policy.
